Domaine de Cebene - Les Bancels

What a wine, the perfect balance of flavors in a glass. Domaine de Cebene is located in Faugeres, Languedoc, France. A region that is battling climate change, like most wine regions. This Les Bancèls has always stood out for us through its beautiful freshness. 

This is most likely due to the fact that 2/3 of the grapes are grown on a North(!) facing slope, something that in the past would be a guarantee for bitter and unripe grapes. But now, in these new times, it makes the absolute perfect wine. Syrah and Grenache are lucky enough to grow on these steep, North-facing slate stone slopes. Mourvèdre, the third grape in the blend is still growing on a South-East facing slope, it's a grape variety that needs a bit more warmth and love.
