Olivier Rivière is a French winemaker in Rioja. After training around France, including in Burgundy at the infamous Domaine Leroy and at Remulluri in Rioja, he settles in the area and produces his first wine in 2006.

“Currently making wine in Rioja, Arlanza and Navarra, Frenchman Olivier Rivière is a good example of the new wave of young, small producers who have emerged in Spain over the last decade ”

This Rayos Uva has been made in the "Roble" style, but Olivier (being French) prefers talking about his Rioja Village. The biodynamic grapes different in percentage in each vintage but consist of Graciano, Grenache and of course Tempranillo, thé Rioja grape.

The wine has fermented in stainless steel has been partially vinified carbonic, the wine style of the Beaujolais; putting the fruit and freshness forward. Afterwards the wine ripens for 7 months in oak foudres. Ripe fruits like plum, fig and blueberry, followed by a nice depth and earthy, smoky finish. It's very pure and bright, a lovely natural wine.
