The entry level at the Lissner domaine. Yet, we weren't surprised by how good this is. One of the store's favorites for lovers of high intensity, fresh acidity, saline cold climate wines. Made from a blend of grapes, as Theó told us:
Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc as a basis, and a bit of Gewurztraminer and Muscat for the aromatics (30%).
This is a natural wine punching well above it's weigth. For the price point, the complexity, minerality and flavor is impressive. Unfiltered and coming from Lissner's wild vineyards, that give this wine an incredible depth and length, with the aromatics from the Muscat. The wine is salty, fresh and intense, in a good way.
A wine that keeps giving, that's great as a cold glass in the sun but is mostly highly culinary in it's possibilities: Asian foods, white fish dishes with butter, your classical salads or over a pan of mussels.
