La Stoppa's Trebbiolo is great. Elena Pantaleoni's entry level Barbera / Croatina. A wine we've loved since we were introduced years ago. Where Elena's other Barberas sometimes need almost a decade to age, to shed it's tannins and show it's beauty, this Trebbiolo is ready to go. Made from the younger, most vigorous vines and with decidedly shorter macerations. The tannins are still present, but are always fine grained and pleasant. It's voluptuous, rich, soothing and the slightest funky touch. Bottled with low sulfur from biodynamic grapes, this is energy in a bottle. Great with hearty pasta's, meats from the BBQ or lovely Italian cold cuts.
